My Thank You’s
In No Order
1. Over 16 years agon, Dave Haney brought Jill Neundorf, Russ Dow and I together for a mini-reunion, and then as a collective group we all put on the 50th Anniversary events Cedarbrae’s 50th I was proud to take the torch and continue their inspiration!
2. To Sandy Koster (what a leader!), Colleen Robson, and Brandon Tait (Mr. T) for championing those student volunteers, and the technical lead for the presentation. The School is fortunate to have your collective enthusiasm.
3. My volunteer badge delivery team. I was apprehensive about the check-in process with such a large crowd. we got everyone in within a reasonable time frame. Nobody likes to wait except for Leaf Fans waiting since 1967.
4. To the Faculty Members, hard to single anyone out but Red Lipsett made it, Miss Pat Boyle made it and so appreciative that former students could thank those that also attended (Parkes, Sherlock, Sands, Stonehouse, Burke, Cirone, Carter, the ageless Rene, Gomez, Hall, Young, Paterson, Milne, Gentle, Cirone, Futa- Tait made me troll you!, and maybe a few I missed seeing)
5. Terry Johnston (class of 86, and class all the way). You injected some great humour, regal stories. If there was a Cedarbrae Hall of Fame – you would be right near the top!
6. To Dennis Timbrell, and Bruce Pirrie – A large appreciation for taking the time to champion your videos
7. To Special Guests Kevin Tibbles, Bob McAlpine – thanks for the perseverance on the classroom doors and entry. To Rene St. Aubin for plastering the gym with Dolphins Memorabilia and entertaining the most dedicated athletes in the school
8. Our Speakers – Dale Bingham (“an age of respect”), Frank Cirone (“I remember”), Jeff Wincott (“that one class…”), Mark Stoddart (“What will be your legacy”), Laurie Thomas (“Inspiration”), and Christy Campbell and Sandy Campbell (“built a community”). All of us were beaming with pride and some tears of joy.
9. Over 90% of the people in this network came from word of mouth and Non-Facebook / social media contacts. I appreciate you spreading the word of mouth and helping to build the contacts / awareness. Indeed we had a number of people that sent regrets of inability to attend because life got in the way, and even had over 30 people that simply chose to donate. Promise I will get some stats on the $ amount of results to come!
10. And to all of you as an esteemed social convenor said “when there ain’t no audience, there just ain’t no show”. Appreciate your understanding on things beyond my control, the closure of the science and tech wings and other areas was the last minute surprises. “That’s all Folks” Thee summer of Lee begins – Gone Golfing!
